“Everything is bigger in Texas,” including the amount of pig that can be consumed in one evening at a hog roast.
To kick off the 2015-16 school year with a bang, the men and women of SPO at Texas State hosted their annual hog roast on the deck of the men’s household. What did the hog roast include? Over 150lbs of smoked meat, live music, lawn games, tiki torches, and of course, two-stepping.
Men and women of both our Household and Formation programs helped us plan, promote, shop and cook for the event; no easy task. All of the hard work paid off. Over 250 people came to eat, chat, and dance throughout the night. The 150lbs of meat never stood a chance. The night was not only a blast but also was a great success in reaching out to new students.
Please pray for us and all the students we met as we continue to build community and call them into a life rooted in Christ.
